Intro gets tropical and heads north.
As far as the construction and infrastructure industry is concerned, there is nowhere in the country more exciting than Far North Queensland right now… which is why Intro Recruitment Solutions has made the decision to expand its operations and open an office based in the vibrant regional city of Cairns.
The opening of our second home in Cairns is an exciting step for Intro. Our team has always been proud to support local communities and now we can support our Far North Queensland clients at a more local level with a dedicated team presence in town.
For five years we have been recruiting key roles in the region including project managers, site managers, contracts administrators, labourers, linesman and electricians. We are also proudly a preferred labour hire supplier for Cairns Regional Council.
Far North Queensland offers more exciting opportunities for candidates than most capital cities – including council-based work, major solar projects, and large township developments.
The work available in Far North Queensland is diverse, with several major projects and big developments getting the tick of approval. These are the kind of once-in-a-lifetime opportunities that will help the states economy recover from the economic downturn of 2020.
Recently, 12 job-creating capital projects have been fast-tracked by Cairns Regional Council with funding through the Queensland Government’s 2019-2021 Works for Queensland program. $14.5m of funding will be used for Council’s endorsed projects. Work has already begun.
Cairns is an investor hotspot, providing opportunities across a broad range of sectors. It has a diverse and highly capable building and construction sector, with more than 2,500 businesses involved in the construction industry.
Far North Queensland has a stable economic environment and strong growth forecasts, combined with competitive property markets and a flexible planning regime. It is no secret why it has many people drawn to the region’s safe long-term investment climate.
More people are looking to migrate to Far North Queensland, especially for work opportunities in construction.
Intro directors Lyndon and Brendan recently made the trip north to stop in on some clients and projects that are in development. Lyndon says there are some great things forecasted for the region.
‘The feeling around Far North Queensland is electric. There are so many major projects and developments in the region,’ Lyndon said.
‘Projects such as Land400 in Townsville, the HMAS in Cairns, more work at Shoalwater and some big defence projects spanning from Rockhampton all the way up north to the tip of Queensland, should have everyone in the industry excited’.
Brendan is also impressed with the planned pipeline of projects in Far North Queensland and what it has to offer as a liveable region for candidates.
‘With lots of federal funding and local investment underway, its no surprise candidates are jumping at the chances to move to the tropics from a capital city,’ Brendan said.
‘The projects are big, the work is long-term, and the lifestyle is great’.
As 2020, a year that has been full of surprises, turns and the unexpected – draws to a close, Intro Recruitment Solutions could not be more excited for what the next 12 months brings.
As we establish our second office in tropical Cairns, bring on some new faces and start to work with new clients, the construction industry has never looked better.
